My Interest Checking™ (MIC) is a strategy developed by Velocity Solutions that allows financial institutions to offer higher interest rate deposit products while having a revenue stream from merchants to offset the cost of paying these higher interest rates.

With MIC, consumers receive an offer for a higher interest rate based on the number of purchases with participating merchants in a given month. For example, “Earn an additional 1% APY for every 5 purchases you make with participating merchants this month.” Merchants see increased revenue because of the additional spend from consumers and provide rebates that will be credited back to the financial institution.
